Happy Andalusia Day!

Love AndalusiaA few years ago, the then King of Spain gave a public speech encouraging young people to leave Spain in order to find work experience abroad, and we  responded to this defeatist message of long-term talent drain with the words:  ‘’Shame on you‘’

JuanmiWithout a shadow of a doubt Andalusia isn´t economically the richest county in Spain, but we are a great county.

The history of our creative power, our sporting strength, and our artistic influence could be told through the words and work of some of our home-grown talent such as: María Zambrano, Francisco Suarez, Pablo Alborán, Pablo Picasso, Eva Yerbabuena, Vicente Aleixandre, Carlos Álvarez, Antonio Banderas, Jesús Navas, Sergio Ramos and Isco.

However, the significance of our region belongs neither to the famous personalities nor the notable historical figures. The true value of Andalusia belongs to us; ordinary, everyday people. The true value of Andalusia belongs to the fabric of our identity which is based on a history of cultural diversity, a tenacious pride in the soil we fertilise, our friendliness, and our generosity of spirit. andalusiaThis is who we are, and we will not be encouraged to leave, and we will not be bullied by quick-fix austerity measures, or disheartened by corruption. We say to our fellow Spaniards and the international world: ‘’Come to Andalusia and we can teach each other how to make our great county even greater.’’

It is with great pride and joy that I can say to you: ”Happy Andalusia Day”  My blood maybe British, my nationality Irish, but my heart will always be part Andalusian.VIVA ANDALUSIA.

Fun-loving

fun-lovingJanette thinks she’s a fun-loving person. But what do I mean? What type of woman am I? What is my personality like?

Am I a person who is keen on:

  1. Sitting at home, sending ‘monkey’ SMS messages to everyone in my contact’s list.
  2. Reading Nietzsche and pontificating about the meaning of life.
  3. Doing different things, going out with friends, enjoying the insanity of life and laughing a lot.

Yes, the answer is 3. And, as my best mate says, this is the reason why my face is so full of laugh lines.  On the other hand, other no-nonsense people, say that I’m just old and that obviously, I have a lot of wrinkles!

Your home says a lot about your personality

What does your living room say about you?

It has recently been reported that the look of your living room reflects your personality. With this in mind, what do you think these living rooms say about my siblings? The first is my elder sister’s and the second my brother’s?

Are they: organised, timid, easy-going, eccentric, introverted, independent, fun-loving, open-minded, sporty, sociable or perhaps disorganised, bossy, determined or self-confident? Do you think they are music lovers, bookworms, fashion victims, clean freaks or perhaps couch potatoes?

And mine; well my living room, more or less looks like this: JOC living room

So, does this mean that I am ‘personality-less’?  Do you think I need a personality transplant?

Anyway, what does your living room say about you? Send me a photo and we can ask the Inglés Málaga community to analyse your personality.
