If you see one film this month, you should definitely go and see: Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.Without a shadow of a doubt, it is the best film I have seen in decades. It is horrifyingly brilliant!
Film buffs will salivate over the cinematography, the script, and the second-too-none acting. However, even if you aren’t a film buff, you will love this film because the plot is so refreshingly unpredictable. And finally, if, like me, you have been trying to wrap your head around how Mr Trump became The President of the USA, this film will give you some food for thought.
So, my brother gave me this challenge as part of my list of resolutions. Obviously, I’m over the moon with this challenge, I can be a couch potato and at the same time feel like I’m achieving one of my goals. So, the problem is that we can’t agree on which films I have to watch.
The genres of the films are as follows:
- Best Thriller
- Best Sci-Fi
- Best Chick Flick – Romantic Comedy
- Best Horror
- Best Documentary
- Best Action
- Best Adventure
- Best Drama
- Best War
- Best Musical ( seriously?!)
- Best Gangster
- Best Animation
Right, let me know what I should watch and I’ll put the popcorn on and find the corkscrew. Finally, I know a lot of you are film buffs so don’t be shy, all suggestions are welcome.
‘To be nuts about’ something is an common idiom which means that you really like something. In other words, you are really keen on something, someone, or doing something. For example, I’m nuts about football. And, I’m nuts about listening to live music.
‘To have a bun in the oven’ is an common idiom which means to be pregnant. At the moment my friend has quit drinking alcohol because she has a bun in the oven. Although some people can’t stand this expression, I think it’s cute.
‘To be as cool as a cucumber’ is an expression that means that a person can behave in a relaxed manner during difficult or stressful situations. Unfortunately I am not as cool as a cucumber and more often than not I ‘freak out’ when I feel stressed.
Are you as cool as a cucumber or are you similar to me? What was the last stressful situation you experienced?
What makes a great horror film?
The Halloween franchise has earned, worldwide, just under 367 million dollars. That’s a lot of money!!!!
Truth be told, I hate horror films because I always have nightmares and I have to sleep with the light on for about 2 weeks afterwards. This is not good for the environment or my electricity bill.
Are you a lover or a hater of this genre?

Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children at Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as sweets or sometimes money, with the question, “Trick or treat?”
The word “trick” refers to a threat to do mischief on the home owners or their property if no treat is given. Have you ever played a trick on anyone?
