Get involved: Walk, jog or run to support cancer prevention

Race for Life is the UK’s biggest women-only charity fundraising event. It brings together women and girls from all over the UK to walk, jog or run 5 or 10 kilometers to raise money in order to:

  1. Increase awareness about cancer
  2. Support cancer research
  3. Help cancer patients and their families
  4. Subsidise clinical trials
  5. Support preventative measures
  6. Lobby governments and politicians

Do you want to get involved? If so, why not join me and thousands of other women and girls on Sunday April the 22nd in Málaga.  It costs 8 euros and the distance is 4 kilometers, so, even if running isn´t your cup of tea, you can walk the distance and do something to help the billions of people who are affected by this disease.  To sign up, click this link.

Why are talented people discriminated against?

Talented people and jobsYes, it’s time for us all to wake up and smell the coffee; just because we all don’t fit into the ‘square box’ doesn’t make us any less intelligent, creative, productive or human.  It’s time for everyone to recognise that difference is what makes life interesting, progressive and innovative. Worryingly, I had never heard about Asperger´s syndrome until the issue was tackled on Boston Legal, one of my favourite USA TV series. Indeed, if you have some spare time, I would wholeheartedly recommend watching this show because it deals with very topical and controversial issues in a very humourous way. Not to mention, the second-to-none acting and the ground-breaking script.

To understand autism, don´t look the other way.

”Carina Morillo knew almost nothing about autism when her son Ivan was diagnosed — only that he didn’t speak or respond to words, and that she had to find other ways to connect with him. She shares how she learned to help her son thrive by being curious along with him.”(In Spanish with English subtitles)

Jogging

joggingOne of my New Year’s resolutions is to get in shape by jogging. The problem is, I really can´t stand running, so I need some advice. What should I do to feel more motivated?

For example:

  1. Should I sign up for a race?
  2. Should I start running after attractive people?
  3. Ought I to get a jogging buddy? Help!

Disco Santa is feeling the festive groove

Disco Santa is feeling the Christmas groove.  He has had a very difficult year, and is still trying to get his head around:

  1. The Trump administration
  2. The genocide and ethnic cleansing in, ( to name a few countries) Myanmar, the Yemen, Syria, Sudan and Ethiopia
  3. The political soap opera in Spain
  4. The Paradise Papers
  5. Brexit, and the social value of public referendums
  6. The value of the Bitcoin

Consequently, Santa is taking a break from the unpalatable behaviour of mankind, and he´s celebrating life with his elf friends and some disco. Santa says:  ”Next year, we must do better”.

Santa is legless

Santa has spent too much time with the looney juice, so he is now legless!

A big shout out to the graphic designer Paula Alvarez Alves from Spain.  Why not check out her animations?

Ronny says: ”A little bit of alcohol gives you skipping legs!”

Get skipping with Ronny the reindeer. Ronny says:  ”If you skip for 5 minutes a day,  you will become healthier.”

A big shout out to the graphic designer, Markus Magnusson from Sweden.  Why not check out his animations, or suggest an amazing Spanish animator for me to promote.

Ronny says: ”Put that cupcake down and get in shape.”

Get in shape with Ronny the reindeer. Ronny says:  ”If you do 20 minutes of exercise 5 times a week,  you can get legless during the last week of December.”
