Watching films at the beach

It really goes without saying that you can be completely broke and still have a blast in Málaga.  So, if you are totally skint, and wondering what you can do on a hot summer´s evening that doesn´t cost a penny, then I would highly recommend that you check out the Outdoor Cinema festival that Málaga hosts every summer.  Pack an evening picnic with snacks and booze, take a throw to sit on, call your mates, and go and watch a flick at the beach in your bikini.

Congratulations France!

The 2018 World Cup is over, and I´m sad to say goodbye to a tournament which has been full of highs and lows, both on and off the pitch. The unexpected and sudden departure of some of the world´s highest ranked teams left the tournament wide open, and most football fans truly believed that anything, anything was possible.

I have felt a rollercoaster of emotions during this football campaign, and I watched the final with the hope of seeing some breathtaking football.  I was not disappointed. Congratulations France, you have earned your second star.

Finally, to the flash mob of young French supports in plaza de la merced after the match, thank you, you entertained me with you unbridled energy, flag waving, crazy dancing, and impromptu version of Robbie Williams’ world-famous song, Angels.  Well done – keep your passion alive –say no to racism – say no to homophobia!

Bonfires, good luck and Mr San Juan

In Spain, the summer officially starts with the night of Mr San Juan.  Historically speaking, I have no idea about the origins of this festival, or if it means anything significant.  However, what I do know is that, not only is it a great event to spend the night on the beach, but it also is the perfect opportunity to  let your hair down and go swimming under the moon and stars.
