New Year: New Verb Phrases

NYR1A new year, a new you! Well, experientially speaking, my ´new me´ lasts about 2-4 weeks.  However, in this very short space of time, I can feel smug about trying to save the polar bear, sticking to the recommended amount of daily alcohol consumption and eating spinach.

How about you? Do you start every new year with your best foot forward? Do you join in and make resolutions to improve yourself and your life? If so, perhaps some of these phrases will be useful.

To give up+ ING / Noun
To quit + ING / Noun
To give something a go
To make a promise to do something
To take up + ING / Noun
To fancy doing something new
To try something new
To reduce doing something
To increase doing something
To start up + Noun
To cut down+ ING
To make amends
To apologise for doing something
