Motivation is a noun which is used to express the reason for doing something or behaving in a particular way. For example, my motivation for writing a complaint letter to the National Advertisement Review Board is because I’m sick to the back teeth of household cleaning product TV commercials telling me I’m an idiot.
Seriously, no woman feels over the moon when she has some bleach in her hand. And truthfully, I have never run to the shops thinking: ‘’ I’m super excited, today I’m going to buy some washing powder!’’.
So NARB, please, do us all a favour and baffle me with some science and give me a ‘buy one get one free’ offer. Or, follow in the brilliant footsteps of the supermarket, Aldi, who have one of the most effective British TV advertising campaigns of the decade. Go on, check out their TV commercial for selling tea; it’s top-tastic!
