smartphones and mental health Screen-based activity has been linked to anti-social behaviour, and an increase in health problems such as depression, insomnia and  attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Furthermore, technology has also been blamed for cyber-bullying, isolation, communication issues and reduced self-esteem.
