To put my foot down

To put my foot down
workers put their feet downIs an idiom which means to assert something strongly.

For example, although I’m relatively easy-going and I try to do everything my mother wants me to do when she asked me to take up ballroom dancing, I had to put my foot down and say NO WAY JOSÉ!put your foot down
